"My family moved to South Bend in the late ’80s when my father was given a career opportunity he couldn't refuse. I have always applauded my parents on their decision to move here. I was introduced to a very diverse community of people – socially, racially and economically speaking – during my early years. My experience with the South Bend community school system was outstanding: teachers going the extra mile and investing into your emotional economy. It truly made me think that this was what school was supposed to be like. Indiana University South Bend created an atmosphere that was easy to learn in while sustaining pressure to succeed. I believe the exposure to differing socioeconomic factors, mixed with a great learning atmosphere, creates well-rounded individuals. This is the type of environment I want my future children exposed to."
"Professionally, I view South Bend as the epicenter of regional growth opportunity. With the recent changes to our downtown and Notre Dame's surroundings, I feel that this place has regained its heartbeat. Also, commerce seems to be revealing opportunities for people to do things they're passionate about."
